NEW ORLEANS JAZZ MUSEUM JOINS GLOBAL GIVING TUESDAY MOVEMENT ON DECEMBER 1ST

[NEW ORLEANS, LA – NOVEMBER 30, 2020] – The New Orleans Jazz Museum is proud to join the global Giving Tuesday movement on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 to raise funds for its programs. Donations can be made at www.nolajazzmuseum.org/fall, and the Museum’s goal is to raise $35,000 by the end of the year, providing support to our music and cultural community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Giving Tuesday, taking place on December 1st, is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year, during the COVID-19 crisis, the Museum has continued to employ local musicians by producing free virtual content every week. Funds raised will directly benefit the Museum, musicians, students, and educators—working together to support the New Orleans cultural community through the pandemic.

“We have worked tirelessly to continue to support the music and cultural community through livestream concerts, interactive programs, festivals, and more,” said New Orleans Jazz Museum Director Greg Lambousy. “Donations made during Giving Tuesday and throughout the end of the year will be instrumental in helping us continue our mission.”

Donations made to the New Orleans Jazz Museum will support exhibits, music programs, including the live from the balcony series, and the Jazz Museum Education Center, allowing the Jazz Museum to globally promote jazz as one of the most innovative, historically pivotal musical art forms through highly-interactive exhibits, as well as support ongoing musical and educational programming. Thanks to the generosity of the Gia Maione Prima Foundation and Randy Fertel, all donations made to the New Orleans Jazz Museum by December 31, 2020 will be matched dollar for dollar (up to $35,000).  Individuals can also support the New Orleans Jazz Museum at its third annual Improvisations Gala on Saturday, December 5th.
