The Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival 2017 gets underway on Thursday, January 12, 2017. The New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park hosts Greg Stafford who will lead an eight piece jazz band, including guitar and banjo. Greg Stafford learned from Danny Barker as a teenager in the Fairview Baptist Band and later played trumpet in Barker’s Band. Stafford will lead the music performance and share experiences about Danny Barker’s life and legacy. Free and open to the public.
