Families of children with autism and developmental disabilities are invited to a sensory friendly morning at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint! On Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Jazz Museum will open early to minimize crowds and exhibit noises. Trained educators and volunteers will lead drop-in art activities and exploration of museum exhibits on drumming, Professor Longhair, Jazz Fest, and more! Participants will hear and make music with Jeremy Love and the Matt Lemmler trio and have the opportunity to play a variety of instruments. Come create, dance, sing, and explore together! This program is free for the whole family, but registration is required.

This sensory friendly morning is offered through a partnership with the Louisiana State Museum, New Orleans Jazz Museum and the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park. For more information about this program, please contact Manager of Education, Sara Lowenburg, at slowenburg@crt.la.gov or (504) 568-6980.
