Wilbur is a storyteller/singer/songwriter. He began playing music at a young age in his father’s church. It is the countless hours spent in this atmosphere that cultivated Wilbur’s love for music and connection to the spiritual and healing nature of music.
Growing up in the South Carolina, Wilbur was exposed to music ranging from gospel to folk and everything in between. As a result, he affectionately refers to his music as “Black Folk Music”-a blend of gospel, soul, and folk music.
“Everyone has a story to tell. Sharing our stories can provide empathy to others. Empathy from others can lead to hope. I believe that hope leads to healing.”
