Talkin’ Jazz – Fred Kasten continues his live interview series with New Orleans guitarist Brian Seeger. Mr. Kasten, a beloved jazz historian and radio host, interviews local artists that have elevated the jazz scene. Brian Seeger earned a Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music, and a Master of Music in Jazz Performance from the University of New Orleans. Seeger returned to his alma mater to join the full-time faculty in 2007 where he teaches advanced improvisation, music production, applied strings, and music business. He also directs ensembles, mentors budding producers and recording engineers, and oversees the busy recording studio. His performance and recording credits include work with such diverse talents as Aaron Neville, Davell Crawford, Stanton Moore, Theresa Andersson, Cindy Scott, and his own group, the Organic Trio. He tours frequently in Europe and the United States with several bands, and has represented the U.S. on several State Departmentsponsored jazz ambassador tours, including trips to Bolivia and Kazakhstan.
