The Friends of the Cabildo and the New Orleans Jazz Museum will show films from the first official Jazz Fest in 1970. The festival, held then at Beauregard Park (now Armstrong Park), featured Duke Ellington, Mahalia Jackson, Pete Fountain. Former WDSU News cameraman Don Perry donated the films in 1978 and they were digitized in 2012 for generations of Jazz Fest fans to enjoy.
