About: David Muth, from the Gulf Restoration program, and Steve Cochran, from the Restore the Mississippi River Delta program, will host a virtual lecture on the past, present, and future of the Mississippi River. They will discuss how human intervention has allowed places like New Orleans to flourish; but also how human intervention has caused coastal land loss and the threat it is posing to our future.

The eighth Annual Nola River Festival on September 21-27, 2020 celebrates the environmental, cultural, and economic impact of the Mississippi River and the land it built through live music, cooking demonstrations, presentations, panels, and walking tours that explore this year’s theme “Working on the River."

The festival is free and open to the public, hosted on Facebook. Registration for panels is optional. More information on nolariverfest.org.
