The New Orleans Jazz Museum is excited to be a part of Summer Lyric Theatre at Tulane’s programs. Productions will take place on June 4, 5, 11, and 12 at 7:30PM.
Coming out of this period of seclusion and isolation, we all need to feel that spark of promise, optimism, and rebirth. These themes are at the heart of Songs for a New World by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown. Songs for a New World features Brown's fresh musical and distinct voice, infusing musical theatre, jazz, and other popular music styles. This production in the courtyard of the New Orleans Jazz Museum is the perfect setting to become acquainted with one of musical theatre’s most important composers of the new millennium.
With imaginative staging by Polanco Jones Jr., performances by New Orleans natives Ximone Rose (Broadway's Once On This Island), Meredith Owens and Adair Watkins, and the vocal prowess of Memphis' Prentiss E. Mouton, Songs for a New World is a "Can't Miss" event.
