Bo Dollis Jr. & The Wild Magnolias
New Orleans’ sensuous delights converge in the rich tradition of the Mardi Gras Indians, working-class groups that are a part historical tribute, part secret society, and part neighborhood social club. With funky rhythms and stunning beaded costumes, The Wild Magnolias unleash a sensory barrage that epitomizes the culture of the Crescent City. The Wild Magnolias have been honored to share stages, performing with many musical legends including Cyril Neville, Dr. John, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Troy Andrews aka “Trombone Shorty”, Galactic, Rockin’ Dopsie, Marva Wright, Robby Robinson, Master P, and Widespread Panic. In 2013, Bo Jr and The Wild Magnolias released the album “A New Kind of Funk”. Today, the Wild Magnolias Big Chief, Bo Dollis Jr., serves as a bandleader, weaving modern funk into the band's contemporary repertoire while simultaneously preserving and presenting the generation’s deep music, traditions, and rituals of his father's band.
