Night of Ideas: Where Are We Going?

  • New Orleans Jazz Museum 400 Esplanade Ave. New Orleans United States (map)

The 1st in-person edition of the Night of Ideas in New Orleans will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 7:30 pm at the New Orleans Jazz Museum in partnership with the Hilliard Art Museum, Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, Alliance Française of New Orleans, and the Consulate General of France in Louisiana. The event will also be livestreamed.

  • Framed by an interdisciplinary conversation including voices from the music, literature, and visual arts, we seek to explore the overall question of “Where Are We Going?”

From the National Endowment for the Arts: “Nearly every element of the arts and culture landscape has changed since March [2020], including how art is created, consumed, and monetized.”

The Night of Ideas is an opportunity to engage with creatives across disciplines to better understand how they have adapted their creatives processes in recent years. What impact have the pandemic, social justice movements, and international crises had on their sources of inspiration, their artistic practices, and dissemination of their work?
