Ruben Watts & Peter Boutté are a New Orleans based band that use New Orleans street rhythms with free improvisational melodies. They continue the legacy that ended in Congo Square of coming together to elevate the spirit. Even though drumming was eventually banned, the rhythms live on through the people. They use different acoustic instruments, some of which they have made with the intent to capture the spirit of the land.
“My art captures the spirit and culture of New Orleans. The celebration of life from the cradle to the grave seen through the eyes of a native son.” - Peter Boutté
