Since a very young age, inspired by her Dad's jazz/RnB/gospel record collection.... Britney Chauntae began singing writing and performing her own music. It was in  2009, she competed, won & toured with (BET) 106 & Park “Wild Out Wednesday Competition.” After that win, Britney Chauntae went on to write and perform music while living in California. She then signed on to do music and film in Australia with the likes of world-renowned aboriginal actor David Gulpilil.

Britney Chauntae’s first visit to New Orleans was back in early 2012 when she volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club & also sang on Bourbon at night. She loved the city so much; she decided to return in 2014 and made New Orleans her permanent home. According to her, “she couldn’t see herself rooted in no other place but New Orleans.”

Later in 2014, she auditioned for Season #14 of American Idol and advanced all the way to the Hollywood tapings to represent New Orleans in the top 80. Since appearing on American Idol in '15…you may have caught her & can catch her at some of New Orleans premier venues, events & top festivals singing with some of New Orleans hottest musicians. From being featured during Jazz Festival live & broadcast during COVIDs Festing In Place....to singing with her own jazz & RnB ensemble consisting of the best New Orleans has to offer at various clubs & festivals til this day!

“I love New Orleans! I do what I love & I love what I do… and if I wasn’t able to do what I love, then there is no way that I can truly be myself if I ain't singin to you!"
