The New Orleans Jazz Museum and the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park present a live hour of piano performance featuring Jonathan Hines. 

This program takes place inside our third-floor Performance Center, listening room. Admission is free and open to the public, seating is limited and offered first come, first serve. Learn more about our program admission policy

Hines is currently a performing musician and private educator in Tucson, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona and studied under the direction of his mentors; pianists Angelo Versace, Fanya Lin, and saxophonist Brice Winston. Hines is experienced performing professionally in a multitude of settings, ranging from solo piano playing to leading a small ensemble. Moreover, Hines is the house pianist for “Strawberry Jam,” a popular jazz jam session favored by jazz musicians from all around Arizona.

Hines is primarily a jazz pianist, although he remains open to working in a wide range of genres with artists of unique musical backgrounds. He has been involved in collaborative productions in hip-hop, fusion, rock, and folk, among other styles as both a performing artist and audio engineer. Hines has also played alongside acclaimed jazz musicians such as Veronica Swift, Ingrid Jenson, Joe Lovano, Terrell Stafford, and John Riley among others.
