The Avery Band and Friends

Millard Green began his role as a bandleader in 1982. He specializes in classic, original New Orleans Rhythm and Blues music. Millard has played with a variety of talented musicians who were heavily involved in the early New Orleans music scene. He sings vocals, plays lead bass guitar and performs a combination of jazz and Rhythm and Blues, with legends such as the James Rivers Movement and Al "Carnival Time" Johnson. Al “Carnival Time” Johnson was voted one of the 300 most influential people on the New Orleans Tricentennial list of those who made New Orleans great! He is a living legend, an entertainer, and a vocalist. Charles “Chuckie C” Elam is a highly seasoned veteran who has been on the New Orleans music scene for 50 years. He plays saxophone and sings vocals. Chuckie C. is the musical director of the Avery band. Willie Cole is an accomplished New Orleans-born multi-instrumental master. He plays percussion, harmonica and is a vocalist as well. Willie previously toured internationally with Isaac Hayes, Al Hurt, Ernie K Doe, and Allen Toussaint. Keith Vinet plays the keyboard and is a graduate of NOCCA. Keith has played with Rockin' Dopsie and the Low Rider band. He sounds like Stevie Wonder, George Duke, and Herbie Hancock all at once. Yahel Yizrachyah Yisrael is a talented up-and-coming keyboard player that comes from a musical family. Natasha Moreland is a singer from the Philippines who was lured to New Orleans for the city’s amazing music. Natasha’s forte is singing well-loved jazz standards which are accompanied by a piano and upright bass. A professional musician since the 1960s, Joe “Survival” Caruso brings a unique New Orleans flavor to traditional rhythm and blues. Born and raised in The Big Easy. Joe has played with legends from Etta James to Hank Ballard.
