Britney Chauntae
Britney Chauntae has always known what she wanted to do with her God given talents. Since the age of 14, she has been singing writing and performing her own music. In 2009, she competed, won & toured with Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) 106 & Park “Wild Out Wednesday Competition.” After that win, Britney Chauntae went on to write and perform music while living in California. She then signed on to do music and film in Australia with the likes of world-renowned aboriginal actor David Gulpilil.
Britney Chauntae’s first visit to New Orleans was back in early 2012 when she volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club & also performed on Bourbon at night. She loved the city so much; she decided to return in 2014 and made New Orleans her permanent home. According to her, “she couldn’t see herself rooted in no other place but New Orleans.”
Later in 2014, she auditioned for Season #14 of American Idol and advanced all the way to the live Hollywood tapings to represent New Orleans in the top 80. Since appearing on American Idol in '15…you may have caught her & can catch her at some of New Orleans premier venues, events, & festivals singing with some of New Orleans hottest musicians. These days...when she's not performing in friend & fellow musician's band Darcy Malone & The Tangle as supporting vocalist....you can guarantee that she’s bringing the same level of energy & excitement with her own band! “I do what I love & I love what I do… and if I wasn’t able to do what I love, then there is no way that I can truly be myself if I ain't singin to you!"
