Marc Stone

Slide guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Marc Stone has had a breakout 2023 with his funkified and finely-crafted Blues-infused Rock/Americana originals. Equally at home bringing the fire with his electric band, leading intricate all star projects, and tearing it up for packed houses with just a guitar and a mic, Stone has been described by OffBeat Magazine as “some sort of glorious Elton John/Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington mashup”. Newly signed to Sony imprint Bent River Records, his star-studded, all-original studio album Shining Like A Diamond features Leo Nocentelli and George Porter, Jr. of the Meters, Joy Clark, Mike Dillon, Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, Lilli Lewis, Weedie Braimah, Meschiya Lake, Papa Mali, Alvin “Youngblood” Hart, Marilyn Barbarin and many more. The album will hit the streets worldwide in January 2024. The lead single “The Truth (Is What I Wanna Know)” will drop on October 13, 2023 and has already been licensed for inclusion in AMC TV’s new crime drama Parish.

Stone has released six albums and toured extensively in the US and Europe. His songs ooze with the vibes he’s absorbed performing with legends of Funk, New Orleans RnB, Blues and Zydeco, as well as his work with cutting-edge Americana phenoms, Jam band heroes, Hip-Hop artists, singer songwriters and African drum masters. Along the way Stone has performed in over 20 countries, including ten years of consistent touring in western Europe.

When Stone puts down the guitar for while, he often picks up gems from his extensive vinyl collection to DJ at clubs and events. Offstage, Marc gives back to the community with his weekly “Soul Serenade” program on volunteer-powered WWOZ 90.7-fm New Orleans and by organizing concerts and projects bringing younger artists together with masters from earlier generations. He has worked as talent curator for festivals, clubs and events, and performed in over 20 countries worldwide.
