 RUMBA BUENA

Johnny Marcia Born in New Orleans and son of Honduran parents, Johnny Marcia started his musical career at a very young age. Surrounded by music growing up, Johnny joined his father’s Latin band, Los Sagitarios, at the age of 16. Los Sagitarios was a popular group that played for about 35 years and Johnny grew up playing in the group. Gradually in 2001, he took it over with a new vision. To do this, he changed the name of the band to Rumba Buena and handpicked the best musicians around town to join the band. Rumba Buena expanded to playing more genres of music and performing at different and larger venues. Today, this group is one of the most popular local Latin groups specializing in Salsa, Merengue and Bachata rhythms, just to name a few. He claims it was not an easy decision to make the changes but in order to grow and compete; he had to challenge himself and the group.
