Join Us for the Dominican NOLA Festival!

The New Orleans Jazz Museum is honored to partner with Fermín Ceballos and the Dominican Consulate to host New Orleans’s first Dominican and Cultural Festival "DOMINICAN NOLA FEST” on Saturday, October 26th with public programming and workshops from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm followed by a Dominican Gala from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Dominican NOLA Fest is a chance to share and commemorate fundamental aspects of Dominican and Latino culture through food, music, dance, and traditional cuisine. We hope you can join us in this joyful celebration of the New Orleans Dominican community. 

 Get ready for a full day of vibrant Dominican culture, music, dance, and workshops! The Dominican NOLA Festival is back, and we’re inviting YOU to celebrate with us! From traditional Merengue and Bachata to workshops on Dominican gastronomy—there’s something for everyone! This edition is extra special as we’ll also be honoring the rich cultural heritage of Honduras, featuring Garifuna music and dance..

  Festival Highlights:

 11:00 AM - Official start and presentation of the exhibition

12:00 PM - 12:20 PM: Gastronomy Workshop "Dominican Flavor" with Marlon Contreras

1:00 PM - 1:20 PM: Dance Workshop (Traditional Merengue & Bachata) led by Marivel Contreras & Melissa Joy

3:20 PM - 3:40 PM: Performance by Dominican NOLA Dancers, directed by Eva María Feliz

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: The Hour of Honduras, featuring Garifuna music and dance by our international guest, Eurelio Martinez.

5:30 PM -6:00 PM: Dj. Billy - Tipico Duro

6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Neni Pion & Gabriel Lantigua

7:00 PM - 7:45 PM: Sunpie Barnes (Zydeco & Blues)

8:20 PM - 9:10 PM: Special Tribute to Ñico Lora with Ramón Martínez and Fermín Ceballos

 The day will also feature guest speakers, DJ Billy spinning traditional beats, and acoustic sessions by Neni Pion and Gabriel Lantigua. Let's celebrate the rich cultural ties between the Dominican Republic and New Orleans! 🇩🇴🇺🇸🇭🇳

All activities will take place on the main stage, so you won’t miss a beat!
