Brass band Masterclasses in New Orleans (United States) organized by TREMPO (France)

In the heart of New Orleans, cradle of brass bands and jazz marching bands, this training aims to develop instrumental technique as well as knowledge of traditional repertoires and oral tradition.

We want to allow musicians who play in brass bands, and brass bands at a professional level, to deepen their knowledge of instruments, their techniques, and to work on repertoires of tradition and oral transmission. The discovery of this music in their social and cultural environment will promote understanding and integration of modes of composition and arrangement. This training takes place in the heart of the historic district at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, which allows them to meet many of its musicians.

Professional musicians practicing the music of brass bands and jazz marching bands in New Orleans styles and having an advanced level. Knowledge of repertoires and regular group practice (walks or concerts) are required.
