The New Orleans International Guitar Festival (NOIGF), in collaboration with the New Orleans Jazz Museum, proudly presents Geovane Santos on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 PM. Santos, an Afro-Brazilian musician hailing from Belo Horizonte and currently residing in New Orleans, is a dynamic and multifaceted artist. He excels as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, researcher, and educator, weaving together a rich tapestry of musical styles and cultural influences.
Known for his exceptional talent, Santos has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2017 Louis Armstrong Foundation Jazz Composer Award, presented by ASCAP in partnership with the University of New Orleans (UNO), among several other distinguished honors. His work stands as a testament to his artistry, and his visionary approach continues to push the boundaries of both music and academia.
The New Orleans Jazz Museum, a proud partner and sponsor of the NOIGF since 2017, has played a pivotal role in the festival’s success, notably since first hosting the celebrated Guitar Fiesta — a full day of immersive musical experiences that year. This long-standing partnership underscores the commitment to fostering creativity and innovation within New Orleans' vibrant music scene.
