Sonny Landreth
Louisiana slide guitar icon Sonny Landreth is an award-winning musician’s musician. His style derives from Cajun music, zydeco, Delta blues, swamp pop, R&B, and rockabilly, in addition to myriad other rootsy sounds. Landreth’s groundbreaking work has long mixed familiarity with experimentation, and Blacktop Run, his most recent album, stretches from hard-edged electric instrumentals to wistful acoustic ballads.
Across his long career, Landreth has garnered two Grammy nominations, clocked multiple appearances at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, and received wide-ranging acclaim from players and fans worldwide. He mixes electric and acoustic settings onstage, flanked by bassist David Ranson and drummer Brian Brignac, and with producer Tony Daigle bringing the sounds and concepts of the recording studio to venue mixing consoles.
