Cole Williams uses her considerable vocal and songwriting talents as agents for social change as well as inspiring, world-class entertainment. Williams, along with her band, crosses genres, blending R&B, rap, gospel, and world beats to celebrate humanity and hope. She has performed at festivals across the city and is spreading out to bring her message to places like the Blue Note and the World Café Live. Top hits include the original “Give Power to the People” and an appropriate, breath-taking rendition of the Sam Cooke classic, “A Change is Gonna Come.” In addition to her performance career, Williams is also the founder of The Greater New Orleans Citizens Relief Team, focusing on issues facing the houseless. Williams can also be heard hosting the Tuesday edition of the New Orleans Music Show on WWOZ-FM.
