Sullivan Dabney

At the age of one, Sullivan Dabney was characterized as being a musician by his mothers' own view of how creative her son was. Beating on pots, pans and anything that could create soothing sounds. During his years of school, he participated in the marching band every year that it was available to him. He began singing and received numerous awards for talent shows. Although he was labeled "Mr Fast Wrist" in high school, his singing only helped him as a drummer, because he began to do both. Immediately following high school, Sullivan put his dream in motion. He developed several groups and bands, he has always been known for his outstanding achievements with 'Sullivan Dabney and The Muzik Jazz Band', one of New Orleans Louisiana's top Jazz bands. He has captured the attention of audiences all over the world and has been invited to play in countries such as; Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Australia, and Central America. Dabney has also played with some of the music industry's top artist, such as; Tommy Ridgely, Joe Tex, King Floyd, Irma Thomas, Jean Knight, Eddie Bo, Ernie K Doe and Robert Parker, just to name a few. Dabney has always participated in local events in the State of Louisiana, such as; French Quarter Festival, New Orleans, Jazz and Heritage Festival, and New Orleans Paddlewheelers Creole and Cajun Queen Riverboats. He set his creative foundation when prestigious individuals began requesting his band to participate in private functions such as; Jack Kemp's Superbowl Party for "Superbowl 35," Warner Brothers Associates, NCAA Final Four and the NAACP Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dabney has also held his title as a legend of Louisiana Jazz. Visitors from all over the world come to New Orleans to hear his band at the Harrah's Casino.
