Harmony Street Society is hosting 4 ‐ Free Workshops this fall/winter for New Orleans area musicians.
Discover how to get a fresh start with your tax situation from certified CPA and tax expert.
Learn about the differences between W‐2s and a 1099 year‐end tax documents, how to become tax compliant, and how to file 1040 tax returns for prior years.
Discover year‐end tax tips and receive instruction on preparing your 2023 tax return and setting‐up accounts with the IRS, Louisiana Department of Revenue, and the Social Security Administration.

Week 1: Ask a CPA (Nov. 2nd)
o Learn about W‐2s and 1099s.
o How to fill out a W‐4.
o The importance of staying in compliance to receive Medicare and Social Security.
o Bring your questions and tax issues to get guidance from Harmony Street’s CPA.
Week 2: Year End Tax Tips (Nov. 15th)
o Get prepared to file your 2023 return.
o Important documents to look for and keep.
o Preparing a list of your expenses and other deductions.
o Setting up your accounts with IRS, Louisiana Department of Revenue, and the Social Security Administration.
Week 3: How to Prepare Your 2023 Tax Return (Jan. 17th)
o Our CPA will walk you through the preparation of your 2023 return using your phone.
Week 4: How to Prepare Your 2023 Tax Return (Jan. 31st) Change this date to March 6, 2024
o A repeat of Workshop 3 plus tips on what to do if you are missing documents.
