Exhibit opening of: Brother, Can You Spare A Quarter: Satchmo SummerFest Turns 25

The New Orleans Jazz Museum will unveil a special retrospective exhibit in honor of the 25th anniversary of Satchmo SummerFest on Thursday, July 31st, the world’s premier festival dedicated to Louis Armstrong.

Titled “Brother, Can You Spare A Quarter: Satchmo SummerFest Turns 25,” the exhibit showcases a vibrant collection of posters from the festival’s 25-year history. These iconic works—created by artists such as Jane Brewster, Tami Curtis-Ellis, Margaret Slade Kelley, Ayo Scott, Marinta Skupin, Scott Hodgin, Koby Sackey, Mario Padilla, Richard Thomas, Philip Bascle, and many others—will be displayed in framed installations along the museum’s main corridor.

Visitors can enjoy this visual tribute as they make their way to the newly renovated third-floor performance space, where the museum will host an engaging lineup of lectures during the festival. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience the Gallatin Street Records Piano Series, adding a rich musical layer to the celebration.

Event will feature a cash bar, refreshments and live music!!!
