As an experienced filmmaker, Robert Mugge has mastered the art of captivating tellings of American music history. Through documentaries such as Black Wax, A Joyful Noise, Kingdom of Zydeco, Deep Blues, Rhythm and Bayous, and New Orleans Music in Exile, Mugge has been documenting the stories of American musicians for over 50 years and gives viewers and readers alike presentations of each artist as if it were a personal conversation.
