Special Monday Crescendo! How a Song Breaks in 2026

The Jazz Museum is closed for Election Day, so we're moving Crescendo to Monday November 2nd, and this should be a good one! Led by musician and entrepreneur Lou Hill and attorney Bri Whetstone, this workshop explores how a song can gain traction in today’s music industry with real world examples straight from their respective work in the music business.

This session covers:

  • TikTok’s influence on the industry

  • Streaming services and curators

  • Contracts and clearances

  • Touring adjustments and working with out-of-market media

Crescendo: How a Song Breaks in 2026

Free. Please RSVP here.

ALSO on Zoom! We really think the class is better in person, as Crescendo is as much a conversation as a presentation, and the best experience is in person. But if joining us online is the best option for you, please email us at gene@ellanola.org.

This seminar offers community members practical guidance on licensing, intellectual property rights, and other essential music-industry business topics. With so much thriving talent in New Orleans, the New Orleans Jazz Museum is proud to support local musicians by helping them protect both their creative work and their business interests. We hope you’ll join us!
