Gallatin Street Fest Returns to the New Orleans Jazz Museum - April 28, 2025
The New Orleans Jazz Museum is thrilled to announce the return of the Second Annual Gallatin Street Fest, to be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 400 Esplanade Avenue. This free, daylong event will celebrate the city’s rich musical and cultural heritage with live performances, local food vendors, a full-service bar, and curated merchandise and vinyl from Gallatin Street Records.
Gallatin Street Records to Release “Caravan: From Marrakech to New Orleans” a full-length album by Mahmoud Chouki
The New Orleans Jazz Museum’s Gallatin Street Records is thrilled to release “Caravan: From Marrakech to New Orleans” a full-length album by Mahmoud Chouki, Moroccan string virtuoso and innovative composer currently residing in New Orleans. Chouki calls the album a love letter to the city that welcomed him, and it features a host of New Orleans’ most iconic jazz musicians. Chouki and an all-star ensemble will celebrate the release with two shows at Snug Harbor on July 25, 626 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans.

Gathering together as a community is the lifeblood of New Orleans and we share that passion at the Jazz Museum.Being able to return to live events and programs in full force this year allowed us to celebrate and explore jazz together.
THE NEW ORLEANS JAZZ MUSEUM SET TO OPEN NEW EXHIBIT CHRONICLING EARLY JAZZ FOR FRENCH QUARTER FEST WEEKEND
Congo Square to the World: Early Jazz in New Orleans will chronicle the history and evolution of New Orleans jazz, exploring its diverse roots and varied trajectory, as well as highlighting the lives and legacies of key performers such as Buddy Bolden, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Lizzie Miles, and Jelly Roll Morton.

New Orleans Jazz Museum and Le 360 Paris Music Factory bring New Orleans Jazz to Paris for Festival Jazz Nouvelle-Orleans
The New Orleans Jazz Museum (Louisiana, USA) and Le 360 Paris Music Factory (Paris, France) have joined forces to create a festival focused on cultural exchange. The first edition of this festival will take place from September 22 to 24, 2023, and will offer three days of musical and cultural programming.
New Orleans Jazz Museum Announces Expanded Improvisations Gala Entertainment Line-Up
The New Orleans Jazz Museum Improvisations Gala, presented by the Herb Alpert Foundation, takes place on Saturday, December 2 from 8-11 pm, preceded by a Patron Party. Amidst space-themed art installations, the 6th annual fundraiser promises to be a cosmic experience headlined by the incomparable Jason Neville Funky Soul Band & Special Guest Mr. P. Funk “George Clinton”, sponsored by James Douglas Hislop.

International Jazz Day 2021 at the New Orleans Jazz Museum
The New Orleans Jazz Museum invites you to celebrate International Jazz Day with us on Friday, April 30! The Museum will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of this UNESCO-designated celebration with a day-long virtual event on facebook.com/nolajazzmuseum. Programming will feature local performers, including school bands, alongside international performers from Argentina, Japan, Taiwan, France, and other countries. Through these programs, the Jazz Museum will explore the global impact of New Orleans Jazz.

In lieu of traditional Jazz Fest season celebrations in the last week of April, the New Orleans Jazz Museum will offer a series of virtual and in-person events to mark springtime in New Orleans. These events will be hosted in addition to usual daytime virtual programming.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum is excited to announce a Drumsville: Evolution of the New Orleans Beat exhibition companion. The New Orleans Jazz Museum debuted Drumsville on November 8, 2018, in celebration of both International Drum Month and the New Orleans Tricentennial, along with the invention of the drum kit in New Orleans and the ongoing evolution of rich local drumming traditions. Drumsville is a highlight of our exhibit offerings, and we are excited to announce an accompanying book written by exhibit co-curator Dr. Robert H. Cataliotti.
